Printing on T-shirts - like any other industrial process - consumes electricity, uses a lot of raw materials and produces waste. However, it is worth being aware of and taking steps to minimize the impact on the natural environment. At Print Union, we approach the subject of printing responsibly in the context of caring for the environment, and try to propose environmentally friendly solutions and use modern ecological solutions.

What actions should be taken to minimize the environmental impact of printing printing?

Print Union takes a responsible approach to sustainable development and caring for nature, minimizing its impact on the environment. Water-based prints are more environmentally friendly, but are also much more difficult to process and work with, for example due to their shorter drying time. This way of printing can be a great option if you are thinking of starting a clothing line and want to pursue the path of "caring for the environment" and "social responsibility". This print option is the perfect combination with our Fairwear and Sustainable garments - from Stanley/Stella and Continental Clothing.

Is the use of water-based prints ecological at the expense of aesthetics?

Not always water-base prints will give us the expected result. They are most often used with light-colored materials, as the water-based paint blends into the fibers. Its expressiveness with dark materials may not be satisfactory for some people, because e.g. white will be slightly gray. For many, it may be a big advantage that the water-based paint is not felt on the material. Due to the fact that it penetrates the structure of the material, it is almost imperceptible, and it is extremely easy to iron such an imprint. There is no "sticker" effect as with, for example, plastisol paints.

Water-base print

Water-based prints are durable due to their fusing into the fibers of the material, which makes them resistant to washing and external factors. Chemicals are not used to dilute and wash these paints in the production process, as is the case with many other techniques. In addition, they do not contain plastic, and they are biodegradable, which makes them a very ecological choice that additionally serves for years.
